M.A.S Socket:
The Marlo Anatomical Socket or
M.A.S.® technique was developed
by engineer-prosthetist Marlo Ortiz,
who was trying to create a more
intimately fitting socket for patients
in his Guadalajara, Mexico practice.
In comparison to current Ischial
Containment designs, the MAS®
configuration provides significantly
more skeletal support along the
medial IschioRamal complex.
The MAS® socket encapsulates the
medial and inferior IRC, containing
the skeletal anatomy and enhancing
femoral stabilization.
